This post explains why the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool (WUDT) is unable to copy the install files to the USB drive in some cases. The tool allows you to create a copy of your Windows 7 ISO file on a USB flash drive.
I have been trying to use this tool for creating a USB drive for my note book,
I have download the windows vista iso image from here > http://www.microsoft.com/zh-hk/download/details.aspx?id=13158
And I can select it and running it, however, when the tool run till 99% it said that it is unable to copy the file,
First I thought it is because my USB drive is not working, but I don't think that three of them are not working at the same time,
Then I think that it may be because of my iso image won't be able to create a bootable USB drive,
But I find out that this tool can be used for creating the windows vista bootable USB drive from here>http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/install-windows-vista-from-usb-stick-using-windows/db0a7ee6-a32b-444a-9778-4e777f7b5b54
So I want to know that am I doing it in a wrong way or I can do it in this way
P.S
I am using my netbook to create the bootable USB drive, because my notebook is down and I am a international student ,
so I haven't bring my windows bootable disk with me, but I have the product key in the back of my notebook,
I have to use a USB drive to re-boot my notebook, my netbook is running a windows 7 starter,
